Summary
Overall, though looking at a number of short films I have gathered that very few short films tend to stray away from the typical codes and conventions. Occasionally a short film will maybe go against one or two of the characteristics but it is very rare that it goes beyond this. Uncanny Valley appears to be the most controversial short film in terms of breaking the codes and conventions but this may just be due to the fact that it is a -fi and sci-fi is not particularly popular in the short film genre, this is followed by Welcome to the last bookstore but again this may have been inevitable due to the fact that it is a documentary rather than a short film.
