Inspiration for short film

After looking through various short stories of which to take inspiration we happened to come across Roald Dahl's short story Lamb to the slaughter. We intend to take this short story and adapt it into modern times, whilst still sticking to the original plot. The plot basically consists of a housewife who murders her husband with a leg of lamb due to his request for a divorce, The housewife then cooks the leg of lamb and feeds it to the detectives investigating the case of her husbands murder. This is one of the darker stories written by Roald Dahl and features in the television series,"Tales of the Unexpected" as shown below. However this version of the story seems to have been created in the 1980's, our will differ from this and probably be set in this decade. This means that the biggest difference will more than likely be the mise en scene, the decoration  and the costume in this short film is very clearly out of fashion and is easily recognisable as being from the 80's. We intend to replace this with modern day fashion and decoration so that it appears modern to our viewers.

We intend to make this to fall within the genre of a dark comedy
