Patrick Maloney is based on Roald Dahl's character of Mary in the original story. Our decision to base our media product off Dahl's story made planning much easier and allowed us to take inspiration from it as well as adapt it.
About Patrick
Patrick Maloney is an unemployed house husband. The couple have no children and he relies totally on his wife whom he adores. After his wife tells him she has been cheating on him, Patrick turns and kills his wife, His genuine love for his wife becomes and act he puts on for the detectives. Patrick changes from a weak and passive house husband to an emotionless killer seamlessly.
Casting Patrick
Our options were limited when it came to casting Patrick, as we had no budget or access to actors. Thankfully, a member of our group has a cousin who is a professional actor who fitted the character perfectly, he is 31 and we had him grow a moustache to further fit. His vast acting experience added to his portrayal of the character greatly and he was also able to give us directing tips and make sure our shots were as accurate and continuity driven as possible.
